Learning Disabilities Manager Salaries

Salaries in learning disabilities management are influenced by the size of the service, the complexity of the client group, and whether the setting is residential or supported living. The average salary for a learning disability manager in the UK is approximately £40,000, with the typical range sitting between £37,000 and £43,000. However, roles carrying additional complexity, such as dual diagnosis, autism spectrum conditions requiring high support, or multi-site responsibility, attract higher salaries. Nurses.co.uk

For the roles we place, typical ranges are:

  • Registered Manager (small LD residential service, up to 6 beds) - £35,000–£45,000
  • Registered Manager (medium LD service or supported living cluster) - £42,000–£52,000
  • Registered Manager (complex needs or autism) - £48,000–£58,000
  • Service Manager or Operations Manager (multi-site LD portfolio) - £55,000–£70,000

A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care is the standard qualification and will directly influence placement within these ranges. Experience managing services rated Good or Outstanding by CQC is a significant differentiator when candidates are being considered for more senior or complex roles.
