This is a significant executive opportunity for an accomplished operational leader who can shape strategy, strengthen performance and ensure consistently high standards across a complex portfolio of regulated care services.

The Role

As a key member of the executive leadership team, the Chief Operating Officer will work closely with the Chief Executive and Board to translate organisational strategy into measurable operational results.

The COO will provide visible, values-led leadership across the organisation, creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the organisation’s operational strategy across its portfolio of services
  • Ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care
  • Driving quality, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement
  • Strengthening commercial performance and long-term sustainability
  • Establishing clear operational objectives, performance measures and accountability
  • Supporting and challenging senior operational leaders to deliver consistently strong results
  • Identifying organisational risks and ensuring effective improvement plans are implemented
  • Leading transformation and service-development programmes
  • Developing a high-performance culture that attracts, engages and retains talented colleagues
  • Building effective relationships with commissioners, regulators and other key stakeholders
  • Providing clear operational insight and assurance to the Chief Executive and Board

About You

We are looking for a credible and commercially astute executive with substantial experience of leading complex, multi-site services within health or social care.

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Senior leadership experience at Chief Operating Officer, Managing Director or Operations Director level
  • A successful record of improving quality, compliance and operational performance
  • Strong commercial and financial management expertise
  • Experience of leading large, geographically dispersed teams
  • A detailed understanding of regulated care services
  • The ability to translate strategy into clear and deliverable operational plans
  • Experience of leading organisational change, growth or transformation
  • Confident communication and stakeholder-management skills
  • A visible, collaborative and people-focused leadership style
  • An unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding care and support
