Team Leader | Learning Disabilities | Young Adults | Nottinghamshire

Stephen James Consulting is partnering with a specialist independent provider to recruit a Team Leader for a residential service in Nottinghamshire.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, Good CQC-rated residential service supporting young adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, complex behaviours and sensory impairments. Set in a peaceful countryside location, the service provides a safe and structured environment where individuals are supported to build independence, develop life skills and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Working alongside the Service Manager, you'll play a key role in leading a dedicated team, maintaining high standards of care and creating positive experiences for the people you support.

The Role

As Team Leader, you'll support the day-to-day running of the service while leading by example on shift. You'll coach and support your team, ensure high standards of care are maintained and help create positive outcomes for every individual.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Service Manager with the day-to-day running of the service and lead in their absence
  • Supervise, coach and mentor Support Workers
  • Assist with rota management and ensure safe staffing levels
  • Complete audits, spot checks and maintain accurate care records
  • Build positive relationships with families, social workers and healthcare professionals
  • Promote safeguarding, person-centred care and CQC compliance
  • Support continuous improvement across the service

About You

You'll ideally have:

  • At least 18 months' experience supporting people with learning disabilities, autism or complex needs
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People's Residential Care or Adult Health & Social Care (Essential)
  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours of concern
  • Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills
  • A calm, compassionate and resilient approach
  • Basic IT skills
  • A full UK driving licence
