Team Leader
Team Leader | Learning Disabilities | Nottinghamshire
Stephen James Consulting are partnering with an independent Learning Disabilities, provider in the search for a Team Leader based in Nottinghamshire. The Team Leader will play a key role in delivering high-quality, compliant, and compassionate care.
This warm friendly service delivers person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, Autism, PDA, mental health needs, complex behaviours, and sensory impairments - empowering individuals to live independently and achieve meaningful outcomes.
As a Team Leader, you will support the Service Manager in the day-to-day running of the service, stepping in to lead in their absence. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide, mentor, and support staff while ensuring the highest standards of care are consistently delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Service Manager with service delivery and lead the team when required
- Line manage, coach, and develop Support Workers
- Ensure rotas are effectively managed and shifts are covered
- Build positive relationships with families, social workers, and external professionals
- Maintain compliance with CQC standards and contractual requirements
- Complete audits, spot checks, and maintain accurate records
- Promote safeguarding, confidentiality, and best practice at all times
- Support continuous improvement and contribute to service development
Requirements:
- Minimum of 18 months experience within complex care working as Support Worker or a Team Leader
- Hold a NVQ Level 3 in children and young people’s residential care - ESSENTIAL
- Experience supporting individuals with complex needs and behaviours
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Strong organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
- Ability to remain calm and resilient in high pressure environments
- Knowledge of care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding
- Basic IT skills
- Full Clean UK driving licence (required)
