Stephen James Consulting is partnering with a well-established and highly regarded elderly care provider in Leicestershire to recruit an ambitious Deputy Manager for a 31-bedded residential and dementia care home. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, well-run service known for its person-centred care, strong leadership, and commitment to high standards.
The home offers a stable and welcoming environment with a clear focus on quality care, compliance, and continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Deputy Manager looking to step into a visible leadership role with genuine long-term progression.
The successful candidate will work closely alongside the Home Manager, supporting the day-to-day running of the service while driving high standards of care and team performance. This role also offers a structured progression pathway into a newly developed 60-bed home within the organisation after approximately 12 months, alongside a salary increase and enhanced responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities, Skills & Attributes
- Support the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the service
- Deliver and maintain high standards of residential and dementia care
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and support inspection readiness
- Lead, motivate, and support care staff effectively
- Oversee care planning, audits, and quality assurance processes
- Deputise for the Home Manager when required
- Strong leadership experience within elderly care settings
- Good understanding of residential and/or dementia care
- Confident communicator with strong organisational skills
- Proactive, hands-on, and solution-focused approach
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
Requirements
- Experience in a Deputy Manager or senior care leadership role
- RGN qualification desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of CQC standards and compliance expectations
- Experience in residential or dementia care settings
- Willingness to progress into a larger service after approximately 12 months
This role offers a salary of: £35,000 per annum
