Team Leader

Stephen James Consulting is partnering with an established independent children’s care provider to recruit a Team Leader (Residential Care) for their home in Cannock.

This is a key leadership role within a supportive, values-driven organisation, overseeing a committed team and ensuring young people receive high-quality, trauma-informed, person-centred care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, supervise, and support Residential Care Workers
• Deputise for the Deputy/Registered Manager and assist in running the home
• Ensure care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures are followed
• Promote education, health, independence, and family contact for residents
• Manage staff rotas, supervision, and development
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and compliant home
• Support Ofsted readiness and quality improvement initiatives
• Liaise with external professionals (social workers, schools, CAMHS, authorities)

Requirements:

• Residential care experience with children/young people
• Leadership or supervisory experience
• Knowledge of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
• Strong communication, resilience, and organisational skills
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare desirable
• Full UK driving licence desirable

• 37.5 hours/week including evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and sleep-ins
