Responsible Individual – Children’s Residential Services

Stephen James Consulting are working with an established provider of children’s residential services in the search for a Responsible Individual to oversee a small portfolio of homes across the Midlands.

This senior leadership role will provide strategic oversight and governance across the services, ensuring homes operate in line with safeguarding requirements and regulatory frameworks.

The Responsible Individual will work closely with Registered Managers to support service performance, quality improvement and positive outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing strategic oversight across residential children’s homes

• Supporting and mentoring Registered Managers and leadership teams

• Ensuring services operate in line with Ofsted and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015

• Monitoring service performance, governance and safeguarding standards

• Supporting homes through Ofsted inspections and regulatory reviews

• Building strong relationships with local authorities and partner agencies

To be considered for this role, you will need

• Significant experience within children’s residential services

• Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Operations Manager or Responsible Individual

• Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulatory frameworks

• Proven leadership and governance experience within residential services

The role offers a salary of £70,000 – £85,000 plus performance bonus, depending on experience.
