Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Stephen James Consulting are working with a provider of children’s residential services in the search for a Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a residential children’s home based in Yorkshire.

The service supports young people with emotional and behavioural needs and aims to provide a stable, safe and supportive environment where young people can achieve positive outcomes.

The Deputy Manager will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home operates to high standards of care, safeguarding and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home

• Leading shifts and providing guidance to the residential care team

• Promoting safeguarding and positive behaviour support practices

• Supporting care planning, risk assessments and incident reviews

• Assisting with audits and maintaining regulatory compliance

• Supporting staff supervision, development and training

To be considered for this role you will need

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (Level 5 desirable)

• Experience working within a children’s residential home

• Experience supervising residential care staff

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection

The role offers a salary of £36,000 – £42,000 plus sleep-in payments, depending on experience.
