Stephen James Consulting continue to work with one of their developing elderly care providers in the search for an Operations Manager to oversee and drive operational excellence across a small portfolio of residential care homes based in the Greater Manchester / North West England region.

This pivotal role will report into senior leadership and will be accountable for the efficient and effective running of all care home operations across a portfolio of 6–7 services. The Operations Manager will play a key role in supporting Home Managers, embedding strong governance, and delivering the provider’s strategic objectives at an operational level.

You will be responsible for:

  • Driving high standards of care and ensuring full compliance with CQC regulatory requirements

  • Supporting, coaching, and developing Home Managers and senior leadership teams

  • Translating organisational strategy into effective operational delivery across the portfolio

  • Identifying opportunities for improvement across care delivery, governance, and operational systems

  • Holding accountability for the delivery of quality and commercial performance objectives

  • Developing leadership capability and succession planning to support ongoing growth

Criteria for the Operations Manager opportunity:

  • Significant senior management experience within elderly social care, ideally in an Operations, Regional, or multi-site leadership role

  • Proven leadership capability with strong people management skills

  • In-depth knowledge of CQC requirements and inspection processes

  • Demonstrable experience leading organisational change and service improvement

  • Strong commercial awareness and operational decision-making ability

This opportunity would suit candidates currently operating as an Operations Manager, Regional Manager, or Area Manager within the elderly care sector.

The Operations Manager role offers a salary of £80,000 – £85,000 per annum, plus a car allowance.
