Care Unit Manager

Stephen James Consulting is recruiting for a Care Unit Manager, based in Crowthorne, near Bracknell, Berkshire.

This modern, purpose-built care home provides high-quality residential and dementia care in a warm, inclusive environment. The home is part of an established, not-for-profit elderly care provider with a strong reputation for person-centred care and staff development.

We are seeking an experienced Care Unit Manager to support the Home Manager in maintaining exceptional care standards, leading the care team, and ensuring full compliance with CQC and organisational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and motivate the care team to deliver safe, compassionate, person-centred care.

• Support the Home Manager in ensuring the home meets or exceeds all regulatory standards.

• Identify operational challenges and develop effective action plans to drive quality improvement.

• Build and maintain positive relationships with families, professionals, and community partners.

• Promote a culture of respect, openness, and accountability across the home.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

• QCF Level 4 (or equivalent qualification) in Health & Social Care.

• Proven experience managing staff within a residential and dementia care environment.

• Sound knowledge of MCA, DOLS, and CQC compliance.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

• A genuine commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, plus alternate weekends).

Salary: £43,551 per annum, plus an attractive benefits package including paid holidays, pension scheme, health and wellbeing support, and professional development opportunities.
